Fromage blanc is usually made from cow's milk. On this occasion New York's Nettle Meadow Farm made a goat's milk version lovingly whipped with honey and lavender flowers. The result is a delightfully fresh, floral, and slightly sweet cheese. Fromage Blanc means 'white cheese' in French, and is sometimes called "Farmer's Cheese". It's a relatively simple recipe that makes a very fresh, light, mild, spreadable cheese. Fromage Blanc, plain or flavored, is delicious with sweet dishes like fresh fruit, on toast, waffles, pancakes, crepes, in desserts like cheesecake and more. It's a great savory addition too, or good just to eat with a spoon from the tub.
