The trees only grow along two river systems in the world, the Ogeechee and Altamaha Rivers, that run from southern Georgia down to the northern Florida panhandle. Tupelo trees only bloom for 3-10 days out of the year, giving the honeybees a narrow window to gather this perfect nectar. Beekeepers have been known to float their hives down the rivers on barges so that the bees can have uninterrupted access to the precious blooms. Tupelo Honey is great in tea, marinades, and on biscuits, but it's so delicious, we like it best just by the spoonful. Fresh and frozen items ship via expedited air service (1–2 Day Air) and are packed in ClimaCell insulated containers with plant-based ice packs.
Larger bulk orders may ship in insulated Styrofoam containers for added protection.
