A versatile cow&#39;s milk cooking cheese from Denmark, this Fontina&#39;s mild creaminess and gently pungent aroma enhances potato dishes or hot sandwiches. Its sweet nuttiness makes Fontina a fine cheese for serving with fresh fruit as a dessert course. It is a little sweeter than Italian fontina and is more Gouda-like in flavor - creamy yet semi-firm and pliable. The red wax rind is not edible.
